ACA 2011 Places To Visit

The Washington, D.C. region has so many historically and culturally significant attractions that figuring out what to see while you're here can be overwhelming. We have put together this interactive map to highlight the local attractions, sights, and locations that we, the members of the Capital Cichlid Association, think are cool, interesting, and worth seeing. Some of these are your standard D.C. tourist attractions, but many will not be found in typical tourist brochures. We'll be adding many more in the coming weeks, so check back again!

The various locations we've compiled are categorized, and the categories are shown in the right hand pane below. The locations beneath each category are displayed when you click on that category (to hide the locations, click the category again). When you click on a location, the map will recenter on that location's icon, and an Info Window will appear with a description of the site, a link to the attraction's website, and an indication of which Metro station is closest, or other travel directions. The map starts out centered on the Conference Hotel.

We also suggest taking a look at Downtown Silver Spring's Official Webpage for more information about what food and entertainment are available within walking distance from the hotel.

If you need help getting around town, consider taking Metro Rail, the area's subway system.
