Reagan National(DCA) Airport does not handle airfreight! If you intend to use this airport, you will be restricted to traveling with check-in and carry-on bags. There are several choices of transportation from DCA to the convention hotel besides Super Shuttle. Metro subway service is available to the hotel for the thriftiest option. Take the Yellow Line Train towards Fort Totten. Debark at the Gallery Place station and change trains to the Red Line towards Glenmont/Silver Spring. Debark at the Silver Spring station and exit the subway system at the north exit. Walk one block north on Colesville Road then turn left onto Georgia Avenue. Walk two blocks on Georgia Ave and find the Crowne Plaza hotel on the right. Service attendants, Metro system maps and area road maps are available at all Metro subway stations to assist you with your travels. Unless you are familiar with driving in Washington, DC, car rental from DCA is not advisable as the route between the airport and hotel is difficult, at best. If you intend to rent a car, convention staff advises traveling to BWI airport instead. Please also see parking notes below if you intend to rent a car.
Baltimore-Washington International(BWI) Airport has excellent airfreight facilities that are familiar with transporting tropical fish and other live cargo. Convention staff recommends renting a car and using airfreight services at BWI if you intend to bring a significant volume of live fish while traveling by plane. Arrange airfreight service with your airline in advance of your trip! To drive from BWI airport to the convention hotel, take the airport access road, I-195, west. Take I-95 South towards Washington, DC. At the I-495 split, take the right fork towards Silver Spring. Take Georgia Avenue exit south towards Silver Spring. The Crowne Plaza hotel is on the left after one mile. See parking notes below if you intend to rent a car from BWI airport.
